Chris Sutton has slammed Southampton right-back Cedric Soares for admitting he wants to leave the club at the end of the season.
The full-back started Southampton’s big match against Everton last Saturday but was hauled off at half-time after an abysmal performance.

BBC pundit Sutton was furious with his decision to speak out about leaving at such a critical time in the season for the team. As quoted on the Daily Echo, he said:
You’ve got to question some of the players. Cedric Soares has said he wants to leave the club at the end of the season. If I was a Southampton fan, I would be furious that he has come out and said that publicly.
Isn’t that a bit brainless and showing a lack of respect? He played at the weekend and he was horrific. He got dragged at half time but should have been dragged after 20 minutes.
Is he undermining the manager in that respect? I’d say he is.
Is Sutton right?

Absolutely. There was no need for Cedric to even hint that he wants to move at the end of the season, especially when the results are not going in their favour.
This is a time where players are meant to assure the fans that they’re ready to stay and fight, but this has done the total opposite.
Manager Ralph Hasenhuttl won’t be happy and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Cedric was dropped to the bench or even out of the matchday squad for the next games.
