Saints fell to yet another home defeat this season, and continue their run of awful form, as pressure intensifies at the foot of the Premier League table.
After another slow start, Saints found themselves one down within 10 minutes, after Tom Davies headed home. Saints never really reacted after conceding, and were lucky to go into the break only one down.
They improved early in the second half, and that paid off as Ings tapped in from close range to pull Saints level. But yet again, defensive frailties for Southampton let them down, as late on Richarlison struck to win the game for the toffees’.
In a bitterly disappointing game, fans will begin to worry, as Saints’ Premier League status is in jeopardy if things don’t change.
Next up for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men is a trip to the Emirates following the international break.
