Southampton attacker Nathan Redmond has admitted that he is “worried” about his positioning.
The Englishman has only recently returned from an ankle injury and is one of Southampton’s key players.

The winger was superb against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium during the 2-1 defeat in their last league match. He was confident with the ball and provided a great outlet for the team during counter-attacks.
As quoted on the Daily Echo, Redmond said:
It’s been tough. I got hit with a little ankle injury that kept me out for a month and I’m just slowly coming back from that I think. The minimum requirement is to work hard for the team first and foremost.
I am only worried when I’m not in goalscoring opportunities to score when a cross is coming in or when someone is on the turn and it’s an opportunity for a through ball.
“The manager has always alluded to me that he wants me to work hard for the team first and foremost and that with hard work the goals will come. I have every confidence in myself and abilities to help the team.

Redmond can be a very frustrating player to watch. Sometimes, his positioning and performance levels are immaculate, whilst at other teams, he’s really quiet and can’t leave an impact on the match.
He definitely needs to work on his positioning. He needs to be the one that’s there in the right place at the right time.
If he sorts this out, then he’s a very similar player to Raheem Sterling. He is now one of the world’s best due to sorting out his positioning. We’re not saying Redmond will go on to be the world’s best, but it will certainly help him to up his goal tally.
