Southampton are keeping a close eye on the situation of Brentford striker Marcus Forss, who is currently on loan at Wimbledon, according to a report on HITC.
Forss is in prolific goalscoring form for Wimbledon, finding the back of the net eight times in all competitions so far this season.
The 20-year-old Finland international is also reportedly being monitored by fellow Premier League clubs West Ham United, Brighton and Hove Albion and Watford.
Forss is on loan at the League One side until the end of the season and the Saints may be tempted to make a move for him if he keeps up this form.
Forss has only ever managed to make 12 appearances for Brentford. Should the Saints try to sign him?
READ SOUTHAMPTON VERDICT
Forss is showing great form and is still very young, so he has plenty of time to develop and learn a lot more about his strengths and weaknesses, so securing his signature could be worth fighting for.
Brentford are likely to drive a hard bargain for him, especially after seeing his great form in League One. The Saints are not really lacking in strikers, with Danny Ings, Che Adams, Shane Long and Michael Obafemi.
If the Saints get relegated this season, then Forss could be an ideal signing because there will most probably be a lot of departures from the squad.
