Fraser Forster is open to the idea of joining Celtic permanently at the end of his current loan spell.
The goalkeeper has been a mainstay in Neil Lennon’s starting line-up and has caught the eye with some impressive performances between the sticks.
Forster earned particular praise for his showing on Thursday night, as an exceptional save in the 95th minute helped Celtic defeat Lazio 2-1 in the Europa League group stages.
Having fallen out of favour at Southampton, the shot-stopper appears to be regaining his confidence and is loving life in his second stint at Celtic Park.
As quoted by The Daily Record, Forster discussed the possibility of a permanent stay in Scotland and was enthused by the prospect. He said:
I’d never, ever say no to this club. It’s just the relationship I have with everyone here. The fans, people within the club and the coaching staff.
That was the big thing for me in the summer when I had to get out and back playing.

I just wanted to go somewhere I felt wanted. I’ve not had that for a long time. I’d some tough times down there.
Training for the Under-23s and being away from the first-team. To come back is fantastic.
A lot of it is out of my hands, we’ll just have to wait and see, but I’d never say no to this club.
Read Southampton’s verdict
Forster has been good for Celtic since re-signing for the club, and it’s little surprise to see that he’s open to staying for longer than his initial loan spell.
Angus Gunn has been terrible for Saints this season, while Alex McCarthy is somewhat out in the cold, prompting supporters to question the decision to send Forster away.
However, he needed a move to rebuild his confidence and repair his reputation following some dismal years at Southampton.
If Saints are able to tie up a reasonably-priced deal with Celtic for Forster, it may be a good move for all parties involved.
