Southampton fans have reacted well to the news that the team’s players will give their wages from Friday’s defeat to Leicester City to charity.
The players and coaches came to the decision to give the money to the club’s dedicated foundation, which helps those who are in need in the community.
The players put in a poor showing on Friday evening and this gesture shows that they care and many fans hugely respect the decision.

Although it doesn’t take away the humiliation of the defeat, it shows that the players care and are prepared to do whatever it takes to make up for the loss.
The players didn’t have to give up their matchday wages, they had every right to keep what they earned, but the fact that they’ve decided themselves to donate it to charity shows that this is a team filled with character and desire.
The foundation will undoubtedly benefit from the donation and now the players need to get the fans back on their side through performances on the pitch.
