Southampton’s players and coaches have decided that they will donate their wages from last Friday’s loss to Leicester City to charity, as reported on BBC Sport.
The money will go towards the club’s foundation, who help to transform lives in and around Southampton.

The foundation also helps people fulfil their potential to be more involved, healthier and empowered members of the community.
A club statement said:
The squad has been working on putting things right for the club’s supporters.
As the first step towards that, the group has decided that they wish to donate their wages from the day of the Leicester game to Saints Foundation, in order to help the vital work that is conducted by the charity.

This is a very classy gesture from the players. Although this still doesn’t soften the pain of the result, it does show that the players and coaches are genuinely upset and distraught about the result.
Their wages could result in helping so many disadvantaged people and it proves that they actually care.
The next best thing to do now for the players is to put in a passionate display against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup tomorrow.
