Ralph Hasenhuttl has defended Southampton’s home record so far this season.
Saints have won just four games in all competitions this term, and each of them have come on the road.
Liverpool, Bournemouth and Chelsea have defeated Southampton at St Mary’s in the Premier League, with the club’s only positive result at home coming in a 1-1 draw against Manchester United at the end of August.
Hasenhuttl’s men welcome high-flying Leicester City on Friday night and will be desperate to right their previous wrongs.
However, with Saints in 17th place and the Foxes currently third, it’s safe to say that the hosts are the underdogs for this fixture.

Hasenhuttl believes that Southampton’s home matches so far have not resulted in especially unexpected circumstances, and as quoted by The Daily Echo, said:
If you look at our schedule at home so far, we had Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Bournemouth. The Bournemouth one was the only one I would say that we should win.
We have another chance on Friday and we will do everything to compete better next time.

On paper, Hasenhuttl is probably correct. Liverpool, United and Chelsea were all expected to beat Saints.
However, the first two of the aforementioned teams were there for the taking, and to have come away from both fixtures without all three points felt more like opportunities missed rather than pleasing performances.
The displays and results, against Bournemouth and Chelsea, were dreadful, however, and a marked improvement against Leicester, who have been in excellent form, will be necessary if Saints are to avoid embarrassment.
