Danny Ings found the back of the net for the fifth time in four competitive outings on Saturday.
The striker capitalised on some haphazard defending from Wolves pair Jesus Vallejo and Conor Coady to help Southampton into the lead as they drew 1-1 against their counterparts at Molineux.
Ings has six goals to his name in all competitions this season. He has netted against Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Wolves in the Premier League, but his brace in the Carabao Cup win over Portsmouth will be most memorable for supporters.
Following another pleasing showing up top, these Saints fans were quick to praise the 27-year-old’s display on Saturday…

Ings is fast becoming one of the most valuable players at Ralph Hasenhuttl’s disposal. He has proven that he is the club’s best striker, and is now one of the first names on the team sheet.
He has endured his fair share of injury struggles since arriving from Liverpool in 2018, but it seems he is in good condition and is playing with intensity and desire.
Ings is improving as the games go by, and if nothing else, Saints now seem to have a reliable source of goals.
The key for Hasenhuttl will be to ensure that those around him – namely the likes of Nathan Redmond, James Ward-Prowse and Sofiane Boufal, with Moussa Djenepo sidelined – chip in, too.
