Moussa Djenepo scooped the Premier League Goal of the Month award for his decisive strike against Sheffield United in September.
The Malian weaved past several challenges from the Blades defenders before calmly slotting the ball beyond Dean Henderson, earning Southampton a 1-0 win at Bramall Lane.
Djenepo’s goal was nominated as one of the best strikes of the month, and the club today announced that the 21-year-old came out victorious.

Djenepo has looked impressive since signing. He’s direct, creative and has shown incredible composure in the final third.
The Goal of the Month award is richly deserved, and it was a strike worthy of deciding any game.

Djenepo needs to be carefully managed, given his recent fitness struggles, but his absence in recent times has highlighted his importance.
Southampton have picked up just one point in the Premier League without the winger, with six of their seven coming when Djenepo has been on the pitch.
He scored in the wins over Brighton and Hove Albion and Sheffield United, and his influence has been clear.

When he returns to the first-team fold, it’s obvious that Southampton will be a little more threatening after a spell of dismal attacking play.
