Ross Wilson is looking ‘increasingly likely’ to leave Southampton for Rangers, according to a report from The Daily Echo.
The Scotsman, who is currently the club’s director of football operations, has long been touted for a return to his homeland, and it seems Ibrox will be his next destination.
Wilson, who arrived at St Mary’s in 2015, has taken on a more involved role since the departure of Les Reed but appears to now be set for pastures new.
The Daily Echo reports that chief executive Martin Semmens will oversee the process of appointing a replacement for Wilson, who now looks Rangers-bound.

To what extent Wilson was responsible for the collection of failed signings at Southampton over the years is unclear.
He has, after all, been in place since 2015, and has seen several players fall short of expectations after moving to the club for big money.
However, since taking on greater responsibility for Saints’ recruitment strategies, there have been some positive signs, exemplified most recently by the impressive start to the season Moussa Djenepo has made.
Wilson clearly has an eye for talent, but he has a mixed record, and it could certainly be suggested that starting afresh, as The Daily Echo’s report details, may be a wise change in direction.
