Southampton will be looking to record consecutive Premier League victories over Tottenham Hotspur for the first time since 2003/04 when they visit the Tottenham Stadium on Saturday.
Last season’s 2-1 win at St Mary’s was the last time Saints faced Spurs in the top flight, with Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side knowing a replica performance is required if they are to take anything from the game.
After last week’s 4-0 drubbing of bitter rivals Portsmouth, Saints will be keen to take the momentum into their league game this weekend, and try and salvage something in North London.
But this fixture will certainly not be easy. Tottenham have won seven of their last eight home fixtures against Southampton, with their new stadium already proving a tough place to go.

However, Mauricio Pochettino’s side haven’t been in great form recently, having lost to Leicester last time out in the league as well as being beaten by Colchester United in the Carabao Cup.
In addition, with Champions League football to prepare for on Tuesday against Bayern Munich, they could play a rotated side to face Saints which could leave Saturday’s visitors in a preferable position.
I take a look at the key battles for this weekend’s trip to Spurs.
