With four points from their opening four Premier League games, two of which came against top-six opposition, alongside progression in the Carabao Cup, Southampton have had a satisfactory start to the 2019/20 campaign.
However, there are still numerous areas for improvement, and Ralph Hasenhuttl will be focused on pushing forward when his squad regroups after the international break.
Six Saints regulars will be involved in action for their respective nations for the best part of two weeks. Therefore, Hasenhuttl will still have the majority of the stars who have featured already at his disposal while preparations for the next Premier League fixture away at Sheffield United are prolonged.
Only 15 players have started a Premier League game for Southampton so far this season, though, and many will be pushing for a chance.
So, which players are yet to start for Saints in the Premier League and could be on course to make a significant impact once the brief interval has reached its conclusion?
Here are five who I think are in with a shout.
