Southampton’s Kevin Danso saw red on his home debut for Southampton, after a bad challenge on Manchester United’s Scott McTominay.
The Saints defender was shown a red card after the challenge, ending his first game at St Mary’s in a way he would certainly not have wanted.

Several Saints fans reacted to the news on social media, with many disappointed that the player was sent off.
Lee thought that Danso did well, despite being shown red.
Twitter: Other than being sent off, I thought Danso was great #SaintsFC (@leemyersSfc)
Josh was confused as to why Danso was playing at left back.
Twitter: Wonder whether Kevin Danso deliberately got himself sent off because he’s fed up of playing left back… #SaintsFC (@ReynoldsJ6)
Rhys was happy with Danso’s game, until he attempted the bad tackle.
Twitter: Take a draw!!! Danso was great until he got himself sent off ??#SaintsFC (@RhysTheSaint)
Richard hopes the player can learn from the mistake, and not do it again.
Twitter: Stupid by Danso but he’s young and needs to make sure he learns from this. #saintsfc (@RichardBrer)

Southampton will be hoping that Danso will learn from his mistakes when he returns after his supension.
It was an awful challenge and was an easy red card decision from Mike Dean.
However, it was again strange to see Danso out at left back, considering he is a centre back by trade.
It will be interesting to see where he will play when he comes back, especially after this red card.
