A brace from Dan N’Lundulu helped Southampton’s Under-23’s complete a remarkable comeback against Manchester City’s U23’s on Sunday afternoon, as Saints fought back from 3-1 down to win 4-3 at the City Academy Stadium.
Radhi Jaidi’s side went in 2-0 down at half-time before Kornelius Hansen capitalised on a poor goalkeeping clearance to reduce the deficit in the second half.
Jayden Braaf scored his second of the game for City to restore the home side’s two goal cushion, before Saints staged a late comeback.

Captain Tom O’Connor made it 3-2 with five minutes of the 90 remaining, before N’Lundulu equalised two minutes later.
The 20-year-old then scored an emphatic winner for Saints to complete a dramatic comeback in the 93rd minute, and many supporters called for N’Lundulu to be given a first team chance following his match winning contribution.

While it may be too soon to promote N’Lundulu to the first team for Saints’s next league game against Liverpool, performances like this will certainly do his chances of getting an opportunity under Ralph Hasenhuttl a world of good – especially once the Austrian sees his winning goal!
