Southampton were one of several clubs to have a scout in attendance during Chambly’s 1-0 win over Valenciennes in France’s Ligue 2 opener, according to reports.
With the transfer window soon set to close, clubs are doing their best to bring in the necessary targets before they are forced to wait once again, and scouts are being sent to watch for future stars.
According to Le Parisien, as reported by Sport Witness, Southampton were one of many clubs to be attendance at the French fixture, although the latter outlet report that no specific player is known.

While the nature of the scouting trip is uncertain, the Saints were joined by fellow Premier League club Everton, as well as Lyon, Guingamp and Le Havre in watching the game.
Sport Witness speculate that the two Premier League clubs could simply be watching the game in order to see whether a surprise package emerges, and without insider information to inform us on who Ralph Hasenhuttl is targeting this summer, who are we to argue.
