Southampton’s Jordy Clasie has completed a permanent move away from the club to join Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar.
The Saints have today confirmed that the 28-year-old has finally left the club after a disappointing time in England.
Clasie has been away from the club on loan for the past two seasons after failing to live up to the potential he arrived with.
In 2017, Clasie moved to Belgian side Club Brugge before re-joining his former side on loan, spending last season with Feyenoord in the Eredivisie.
The midfielder originally joined Southampton back in 2015 from Feyenoord and arrived with plenty of promise.
However, things did not work out for the Dutchman in the Premier League and Clasie only managed to muster up 49 appearances during his time with the Saints.
He has since been out of the first-team picture at St Mary’s and was widely expected to move on this summer.
