Southampton could be forced to look elsewhere as the club consider alternatives to Birmingham City striker Che Adams.
The Telegraph reports that a £14 million deal to sign the Englishman is being held up after Garry Monk’s sacking at the Championship side.
His departure has left Pep Clotet in charge on a temporary basis and the caretaker manager is still in the process of reviewing his squad before making any decisions on any potential incomings or outgoings.

Adams has been a long-term target for the Saints after the club tried to sign him during the January window.
After missing out earlier this year, getting him signed up during the summer window was one of the club’s key aims, so it would come as a huge blow if Southampton were to see a deal fall through.
The report does not name any specific targets that the club could be targeting instead of Adams.
