Southampton may have been dealt a blow in their summer transfer plans as Joe Aribo has reportedly snubbed Premier League interest to join Rangers this summer.
The Saints were one of just a few top-flight clubs linked with Aribo, which makes it seem like they were one of those who have missed out on the exciting midfielder.
According to Sky Sports, the 22-year-old will undergo a medical in Glasgow either today or tomorrow ahead of joining the Rangers squad in Portugal for their pre-season training programme in the Algarve.
Charlton manager Lee Bowyer confirmed on Friday that Aribo would be leaving on a free transfer this summer and two Premier League teams – one of which is believed to be Southampton – were battling Rangers for his services.
Ralph Hasenhuttl continues to look to bolster his squad ahead of an important season at St. Mary’s and has already captured Standard Liege winger Moussa Djenepo for £15million.
