Birmingham City striker Che Adams has been made a priority for Southampton this summer after January’s unsuccessful pursuit.
At least one of the Saints current strikers will leave the club over the coming weeks and Ralph Hasenhuttl is keen to bolster his attacking options ahead of his first full season in charge.
Adams was on fire for former Southampton defender Garry Monk’s Birmingham City over the 2018-19 campaign, scoring 22 goals in the Championship.
According to the Daily Echo, the club are likely to test Birmingham’s resolve again after being turned away at the start of the year.
Adams is said to be Southampton’s main striker target, but if they are priced out they will swiftly move on for other targets.
Hasenhuttl has regularly stressed the importance of getting deals over the line sooner rather than later so he can prepare for next term to the best of his ability, and the club are willing to try their best to do so.
Birmingham value Adams at £15million, with his pace and power main traits that make him a hand full and aged just 22, he has plenty of room to improve.
