Southampton have seen an £8million bid for Birmingham City star Che Adams rejected, according to the Daily Mail.
Saints have shown an interest in the striker previously, unsuccessfully attempting to sign him back in January, partly due to Birmingham facing an EFL transfer embargo.
Southampton are not letting go without a fight, however, with Ralph Hasenhuttl seeing the 22-year-old as someone who can add firepower to his squad next season.
They are one of a host of clubs thought to be interested in Adams, who was nominated for the EFL’s Championship Player of the Season award.
The youngster scored 22 goals in 48 appearances for Birmingham in all competitions in 2018/19.
The Blues are “reluctant to sell” such an important figure, though, with Burnley and Norwich City the other front-runners for his signature.
Adams is seen as a potential replacement for Charlie Austin, who is expected to leave St Mary’s this summer, following four seasons at the club.
