Chris Hughton has singled out Nathan Redmond as a threat ahead of Brighton & Hove Albion’s crunch clash against Southampton later on today.
The Seagulls host their south coast rivals at the AMEX Stadium and go into the game just three points ahead in 15th-place.
Looking ahead to the fixture, Hughton told the Argus, as cited by Tribal Football, that Redmond is a key threat whilst he’s in his current form playing off Charlie Austin up front.
He is a threat. He is a very good player in good form at the moment. He is being used in a little bit of a different role which I think suits him, gets him on the ball more, gets him more central to goal. I think that’s probably the reason why he is getting the goals that he is. He has been involved in the international scene with England and is very much knocking on the door there again.
Southampton will be desperate for three points with Cardiff City breathing right down Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side’s neck in the final relegation place and go into this one on the back of strong showings against Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
We’re now in the run-in and, once again, the Saints find themselves in a relegation battle.
