James Ward-Prowse’s brilliant free kick gave Southampton a 2-1 victory over Tottenham and moved Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side two points clear of the relegation zone.
The midfielder scored his second free kick in as many league games after last week’s strike against Manchester United, completing an unlikely turnaround at St. Mary’s after Harry Kane had given Spurs the lead.

Yan Valery equalised with his second consecutive league goal with 15 minutes remaining as Saints improved in the second half, and Ward-Prowse completed the comeback with a brilliant set piece strike.
Hasenhuttl’s side moved two points clear of Cardiff and above Burnley on goal difference in the battle against relegation, though Sean Dyche’s side have the chance to move back above Saints as they travel to Liverpool on Sunday.
