Cedric Soares has suggested he would be happy to remain an Inter Milan player beyond this season.
The right-back joined the Serie A giants on loan from Southampton in January, having fallen out of favour under Ralph Hasenhuttl.
He has struggled to make an impact at the San Siro, struggling for playing time and leading to rumours that Inter are willing to send him back to England.
They have an option to buy him for £9million, however, as part of the deal that took him to the club.
Speaking to reporters ahead of Inter’s Europa League clash with Eintracht Frankfurt, Soares said a permanent move to the Nerazzurri could appeal, should their stance change:
It’s been a good two months for me. When given the chance to play, I always look to give my all and help the team.
As for my future at the end of the season, I’ve not thought about it. Inter signed me because they had faith in me and I also have faith in myself.
I always give my all, whether that be playing one minute, 20 or 90. What happens is beyond my control, but obviously I’d be very happy if I were to stay.
Cedric has played five times in all competitions for Inter since his move, having been primarily signed as a fill-in for the injured Sime Vrsalijko.
Manchester United Matteo Darmian is potentially seen as an upgrade on the Southampton man, which could be why a summer move doesn’t come to fruition.
