James Ward-Prowse is set to earn a recall to the England squad, according to the Daily Mail.
The Three Lions face two Euro 2020 qualifiers later this month, taking on Czech Republic and Montenegro.
Ward-Prowse has one just a solitary cap for the senior side to date, against Germany two years ago.
The midfielder’s form for Southampton has impressed Gareth Southgate, however, and a call-up appears likely.
He scored and starred in Saints’ 2-0 win over Fulham in midweek – a crucial victory in their quest to avoid relegation.
Southgate will announce his squad on March 13th, with the battle for places becoming more intense at a positive time for the national team.
The England boss has picked players on merit rather than reputation, though, and Ward-Prowse’s form deserves recognition.
Now 24, the Saints star will feel now is the time to kick on and cement his place in the England squad regularly.
