Wesley Hoedt wants to stay at Celta Vigo beyond his loan deal until the end of the season.
The Southampton man departed the club during the January transfer window to complete a short-term switch to Spain, where he appears to have settled with Miguel Cardoso’s side.
Hoedt was a favourable option for Mark Hughes at St Mary’s Stadium but was exiled following the appointment of Ralph Hasenhuttl as the club’s first-team manager.
This saw him complete a loan move to Celta Vigo, who will have the option to sign the Dutchman permanently at the end of the season.

Hoedt recently spoke about how his time in La Liga has progressed so far and revealed his desire to remain at his loan club for the foreseeable future.
Speaking to Faro de Vigo, as translated by Sport Witness, the Netherlands international said:
At the moment, the decision isn’t mine. It depends on how the season goes, first. I like being here, but I still have a contract with Southampton. I’m currently playing for Celta and I will give my all to play my best football.
Like I said, we’ll see what happens in the summer, but, of course, I would like to continue in this great club.
The Netherlands international was sent off on his debut for Celta Vigo but has since found his feet.
