Emery reveals admiration for Matt Le Tissier

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has revealed he is a huge admirer of Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier, according to Sky Sports.

Saints travel to Arsenal on Sunday afternoon knowing victory over the Gunners would move them out of the relegation zone and two points above Cardiff after Neil Warnock’s side lost 5-1 at home to Watford on Friday night.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side have the chance to do the double over Emery’s side on Sunday after December’s 3-2 victory at St. Mary’s; the same scoreline from Saints’ famous last game at The Dell in which Le Tissier scored a memorable winner.

And ahead of Sunday’s encounter, Emery revealed the Southampton legend is a player whom he became a big fan of after watching him whilst growing up in Spain.

My memory of him is that he was a very, very special player. He’s one player who I would watch, when I was watching the Premier League in Spain. He was one player I would watch a lot of movies of. He was very technical, a quality player with the ball and was amazing for the spectacle.

The Arsenal boss also revealed he is prepared for another tough encounter when Saints visit the Emirates on Sunday and expects Hasenhuttl’s side to pose a difficult challenge.

Like all the teams in the Premier League, they are difficult and they will be preparing for this match with big players and also with time, and for us it is difficult.
