Southampton may miss out on the chance to sign Bolton youngster Luca Connell this month.
According to Mike Keegan of the Daily Mail, both Southampton and Brighton are taking a closer look at the player.
However, Keegan describes the deal as doubtful with time running out in the January window.
At the age of just 17, Connell has a wealth of potential and is regarded as one of the most promising players in the Championship.
Given Bolton’s current situation, they could struggle to keep hold of some of their best players and Connell looks to be a name that is attracting attention from elsewhere.
Tottenham have also been credited with an interest in the player, a sign of just how highly he is rated at such a young age.
Bolton have dug their heels in so far as they look to keep hold of the player, but with Premier League interest mounting, they could struggle to do in the long run.
