Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina has had surgery in the hope of healing the abdominal injury which has forced him to miss all of his club’s games in 2019.
The Gabonese star took to social media to tell the club’s supporters that his operation was a success and that he hopes to be available for selection.

The 25-year-old missed the game against Arsenal in December with the injury, but he then returned to action to face the likes of Huddersfield, West Ham and Manchester City, but he’s missed Southampton’s last five games and the decision was made for the player to have surgery to hopefully rid him of the niggling injury.
Saints have had a recent upturn in form under Ralph Hasenhuttl and Lemina will be keen to get himself back fit and ready in order to help his side have a strong end to what has been a turbulent campaign so far.
