Cedric has been tipped to be on his way out the door at St Mary’s for some time now, and a move to Internazionale seems to be imminent.
Reports in Portuguese outlets A Bola and O Jogo, translated by Sport Witness, have indicated that Southampton could receive €20m for their right-back from the Italian giants.
However, there seems to be a twist in the tale yet. Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano has stated in the Guardian that the deal is, in fact, a loan until the end of the season, but it may be likely that any such switch includes an option to buy for the Nerazzurri.
The Portuguese international joined the Saints back in 2015 and became something of a fixture on the right-hand perimeter of the back four.
In recent months, however, it has become apparent to the Southampton faithful that 27-year-old might be off to a new club soon. Consequently, it seems as though it’s now only a matter of time before the former Sporting man is but an obscure pub quiz answer.
