Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini is in talks with Sampdoria over a potential loan-to-buy move, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
The Serie A side are reportedly close to taking Gabbiadini on loan until the end of the season, where they will then have an obligation to buy him for £9million.
Southampton are no strangers to deals structured in this way as they have a similar agreement with Liverpool for Danny Ings.

The Italian international has apparently been told that he does not feature in manager Ralph Hasenhuttl’s plans going forward and as such, he’s been given permission to look for a move in January.
Gabbiadini joined Southampton back in January 2017 and hit the ground running, scoring six goals in his first four games for the club. However, he’s only scored another six goals in since and it looks like his time at St Mary’s will soon be coming to an end.
