Southampton midfielder Steven Davis hopes to complete a move back to Rangers early next week, according to a report in the Daily Record.
Saints are happy to let the Northern Irish international leave on a free transfer so Rangers must now look to put together a contract that suits what the veteran is looking for.
Davis has been at Southampton for six seasons but his time at the club appears to be over, and he will go back to Rangers if personal terms can be agreed.

Davis turns 34-years-old on New Years Day and a source close to the player told the Record that he wants a two-year contract from his old club as a perfect birthday present.
Steven is well aware of the Rangers interest and is excited to get it finalised as quickly as possible. He’s even been on the phone to his old mate Gareth McAuley asking if the spare room is ready! But there are some serious numbers to discuss before an agreement can be reached.
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard wants to bring in reinforcements as he looks to have his side competing for the Scottish league title this season. Celtic have dominated the competition in recent years but Rangers are looking to push them all the way this season.
