Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho may miss Sunday’s match against Southampton, according to a report from Goal.
The Brazilian was absent from City’s 2-1 defeat to Leicester on Boxing Day, having to watch his team turn in a dreadful performance from the sideline.
Fernandinho was also missing from the 3-2 defeat to Crystal Palace before Christmas.
A rotten festive fixture run for City could get worse on Sunday when Pep Guardiola’s men visit a buoyant Saints team, enjoying life under Ralph Hasenhüttl.

Consecutive defeats for City have left them seven points adrift of leaders Liverpool, and has seen them drop to third in the table behind Spurs.
Southampton meanwhile are riding consecutive victories, against Arsenal and Huddersfield respectively. A clash on Thursday night will see Hasenhüttl’s men make the perennially tough trip to West Ham, and attention will thereafter turn to the challenge of Manchester City.
