Michael Obafemi scored his debut Southampton goal as the Saints beat Huddersfield 3-1 at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Saints scored twice before half-time through Nathan Redmond and a Danny Ings penalty, before the Terriers brought one back shortly before the hour mark through Philip Billing.
Obafemi restored the away side’s two-goal lead five minutes after being introduced for Ings, rolling the ball past Jonas Lössl after being fed in by Redmond.

The 18-year old forward was making just his sixth appearance for the South Coast club, as Ralph Hasenhüttl claimed his second successive victory since replacing Mark Hughes as manager.
Southampton’s second youngest debutant (after Luke Shaw) will be hoping his short but impress cameo was enough to give the new boss food for thought ahead of the busy Christmas period.
