Southampton have confirmed they have promoted Craig Fleming, with the former Norwich defender having joined manager Ralph Hasenhüttl’s staff on an initial deal until the end of the season.
Fleming becomes a first-team assistant coach, having previously worked alongside Radhi Jaïdi in the club’s Under-23’s set-up.
Fleming joined the Saints in 2015 as the club’s Under-18s head coach, and has proved to be a key figure in the development of many of the club’s talented youngsters.

The former Canaries man had been supporting Southampton’s first-team coaching staff since the visit to Tottenham earlier this month, and had helped oversee the progression of Michael Obafemi, Yan Valery and Tyreke Johnson into the first-team.
The 47-year old will now work with Hasenhüttl intil the end of the current campaign, where he will work with fellow assistant coaches Danny Röhl and Kelvin Davis.
