Hasenhuttl plotting moves to sign Selke and Upamecano in January

Ralph Hasenhuttl has reportedly identified two of his former players as potential transfer targets for Southampton in January.

As per a report from the Daily Mirror, as cited on HITC, the new Saints boss is keen to bring in both Davie Selke and Dayot Upamecano.

Selke, now playing for Hertha Berlin, was at Leipzig during Hasenhuttl’s time at the club and Upamecano is also playing at his former club.

The Saints are lacking in the final third and Selkie, a once highly-rated young German prospect could be the man to provide the goals in the Premier League.

Upamecano is another promising talent that Leipzig signed and he has been impressing at the heart of their defence, making 10 Bundesliga starts this season at the age of just 20.

The defender is said to be valued at £30 million by the German outfit, while Selke could be available for less than half that at £14 million, according to the report.
