New Saints manager Ralph Hasenhüttl has made the decision to cancel a scheduled day-off for his players.
The Southampton team had been scheduled to have Monday to themselves after a weekend that saw them travel to Cardiff, but the Austrian tactician saw no call for his men to be given a rest.
Calling them in for a meeting, it seems clear that the former Leipzig manager was unsatisfied with his side’s performance in their 1-0 defeat to the Welsh outfit.
The result in South Wales meant a run of 12 matches without a win for Southampton in the Premier League, meaning Hasenhüttl’s project have won one game in all competitions since the start of September.

Thankfully for Southampton, the rest of the Premier League cellar dwellers are having similar problems. Just a win from safety, the congestion of the bottom half of the table means survival is still well within the realms of possibility for Saints fans.
Actions like cancelling a day off are likely to please the Southampton faithful, with Hasenhüttl seemingly willing to ruffle some feathers in an effort to turn the team’s fortunes around.
