Steven Davis is not currently thinking about his current contractual situation at Southampton.
Speaking to the Daily Echo, the Northern Ireland international discussed his plans for the immediate future but insisted that his focus remains firmly on helping the Saints escape relegation this season. He said:
I genuinely haven’t given it much thought. It’s probably the first time I have come into the last year of my contract, but my focus is just getting us out of this situation as quickly as possible.
Having been here so long and feeling that responsibility, I want to see the club doing well.

Davis has started just one Premier League game for his side so far this term and this came in Kelvin Davis’ only match in caretaker charge against Tottenham Hotspur.
The 33-year-old will see his contract at St Mary’s Stadium expire at the end of the campaign, meaning that he will be able to depart on a free transfer if new terms are not agreed.
In recent months, the midfielder has been linked with a return to Rangers, approximately six-and-a-half years after he left Ibrox for a move back to the Premier League.
Davis remains the club captain at Southampton but it seems his days are numbered as a first-team player.
