Sunderland boss Jack Ross is confident that he can keep hold of in-form striker Josh Maja in January, despite interest from Tottenham, Manchester City and Southampton.
Speaking about the player’s future, as reported by the Mirror, Ross explained the club’s stance on the striker’s situation.
He will be here minimum until January. I would expect him to be here longer than that. I am confident of that. I know he is enjoying it. He is playing and contributing. He is only young. To get 11 goals so far, he deserves huge credit.
Southampton have been keeping a close eye on the player who is being valued at £6 million ahead of the January window.
Maja has impressed so far this season in League One, playing a key role in the club’s promotion push.

His form has not gone unnoticed, with Championship side Bristol City also pondering a January swoop for the striker.
Sunderland have been keen to extend his deal at the club, but talks have been dragged out for some time.
There are concerns that he could run down his contract at the Stadium of Light, something that may force the club into cashing in early.
