A number of Italian Serie A club’s are considering making a move to sign Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini in the January transfer window, according to a report on CalcioMercato.
The striker managed to score a very important goal for the Saints on his return to the starting line up as Mark Hughes’ side drew against Watford at the St Mary’s Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The striker was in the right place at the right time and calmly slotted the ball past Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster.
However, despite his goal, the striker is reportedly not happy and is seeking a return to Italy.
The former Napoli forward is finding it difficult to get enough first-team action this season and clubs like AC Milan, Fiorentina and Sampdoria are all monitoring his situation.
Gabbiadini made his name with Sampdoria earlier in his career and could be tempted to make the move back there to try to rejuvenate his career.
However, with Shane Long injured and Gabbiadini finding the net, Hughes may not allow the forward to leave, especially with the team fighting to avoid relegation.
