Former Southampton manager Gordon Strachan is said to be among the favourites to replace Mark Hughes.
According to reports from the Daily Record, Strachan is in the running for the Southampton job, should the club look to part ways with Mark Hughes in the immediate future.
There are growing concerns over Hughes’ position after an embarrassing defeat away to Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
The Saints were on the back of a 6-1 thrashing against Pep Guardiola’s men and are still only to register a single win this season.

Strachan spent three years in charge of Southampton between 2001 and 2004 and remains a popular figure among some of the supporters.
He helped guide the club into Europe and the FA Cup final but has been out of work since leaving the Scottish national team last year.
Strachan has not managed in club football since 2010, which may be a cause of concern for some Southampton supporters.
