The Daily Mirror claim Southampton are interested in signing Gary Cahill, with the Chelsea central defender unsure about his future at Stamford Bridge.
With Antonio Rüdiger, Andreas Christensen, and David Luiz keeping a firm hold on the centre-back spots, the switch to two centre-halves under Maurizio Sarri has drastically cut Gary Cahill’s playing time.

Injury to Christensen has given Cahill a few matches in recent weeks, but the club captain may struggle to see his role under the new boss in the long-term.
Mark Hughes’ side may have use for another experienced defender in the heart of the back-line, to accompany marquee summer signing Jannik Vestergaard.
The immensely successful Cahill has won every domestic and European honour he could win with Chelsea, but is beginning to accept the fact his six year spell at the club may be over.
Joining from Bolton in 2012, Cahill has made 286 appearances for the West Londoners.
