Southampton are in ‘advanced negotiations’ to bring in Cherif Oudjani as the club’s head of scouting, as per a report from DZ Foot, as translated by Sport Witness.
According to DZ Foot, Saints have been impressed by the Algerian during the conversations they had with him, and they are keen to recruit him.
53-year-old Oudjani has worked for RC Lens as a scout and he knows France well, having played there during his 18-year career as a player, so Saints will hope he can bring in a few gems from Ligue 1 or the lower French leagues.

It wasn’t too long ago when Southampton’s recruitment was getting plaudits from the wider football world as they brought in a number of top-class players, but recently, the club’s transfer dealings have been very hit and miss.
By bringing in a new head of scouting, Saints will hope to get back to their former ways of being an example of how to conduct successful transfer business.
