Southampton boss Mark Hughes has praised fan support, following the club selling out their away allocation for Saturday’s clash against Wolves at Molineux.
3,000 Saints fans are expected to make the journey, where Hughes will be hoping to get his side back on track after a 3-0 routing from Liverpool last weekend.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Hughes reiterated how important a strong following from supporters can be. He said:
The away support is magnificent. I’ve said it many, many times and you can’t underestimate the effect it has on us as a group as well.
We sense it, we sense that everyone’s behind us and we try and give them good performances first and foremost and as a consequence of that hopefully we get good results as well, but I think our away support clearly appreciates when the guys have put everything in and they can see that we’re trying to do the right things even if we at times come unstuck like we did at the weekend.
We’ve got a good group working hard, trying to win games for the fans.
