Southampton manager has confirmed that new signing Mohamed Elyounoussi is the only player who is a doubt for Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Everton.
Speaking ahead of the club’s first away game of the season, Hughes confirmed that the Norway international was carrying a hamstring issue, but also confirmed that midfielder Stuart Armstrong would be fit enough to feature. Hughes said:
At the moment, apart from maybe Moi at the weekend, we’ve got everyone fit and available. Stuart Armstrong is okay after his knock.
We have a 25-man squad and it’s there to last the whole season. We’ll lose players to injuries and suspensions at times but for the most part now everyone is ready to go.
That’s a good thing on many levels but obviously you end up disappointing players who haven’t done anything wrong but would hope to be involved. It’s a nice problem to have.
Southampton will look to kick on against Everton and aim for three points, having been held to a 0-0 draw against Burnley in their opening fixture.
