Southampton have made a late push to sign Danny Ings, right on the stroke of the 5pm deadline.
Understand that a late possibility has cropped up which #saintsfc have been trying to rush through.
At this stage it is still unclear whether they submitted the paperwork before the 5pm deadline to grant them an extension to get the deal completed

Saints have been working on the deal all day but things went right to the deadline, so it remains to be seen if they managed to get the intial deal sheet submitted by 5pm.
If they did, they will then have until 7pm to submit all of the relevant paperwork to complete the deal.
Ings was keen to move in order to get more first-team football, so one would assume that he’s been given some assurances by Mark Hughes that he would feature a fair amount for the Saints.
According to the Telegraph’s Chris Bascombe, the deal will be a season-long loan with an obligation for Southampton to make the move permanent next summer.
