Southampton target Martin Montoya has reportedly been excused from Valencia training, according to Inside Futbol.
The right-back has been linked with numerous other Premier League clubs this summer, including Brighton and Fulham.
Arriving at Valencia in 2016, the former Barcelona defender fell out of favour at Estadio de Mestella in the 2017-28 campaign, making just eight appearances.

Subsequently, the Spaniard is being tipped with an exit from the La Liga giants before the transfer window shuts.
If a permanent move to the Premier League is to be secured, it will have to be concluded by 5pm today.
The Saints have already signed defender Jannik Vestergaard during the summer transfer period, and the addition of Montoya could provide competition for Cedric on the perimeter of the back four.
Montoya has two years remaining on his contract at Valencia, and as such any team seeking to land the experienced defender will have to dig slightly deeper into their pockets.
