Southampton’s 2018/19 season: Writers’ Predictions

Southampton kick off their 2018/19 Premier League campaign against Burnley on Sunday afternoon.

Mark Hughes will be leading his Saints side into the season with the hope that they can avoid a repeat of last term, where Mauricio Pellegrino almost led the club down to the Championship.

Southampton have been relatively active in the transfer market. Stuart Armstrong, Mohamed Elyounoussi, Angus Gunn and Jannik Vestergaard have all arrived as new signings.

Meanwhile, Dusan Tadic has been sold to Ajax. Sofiane Boufal, Guido Carrillo and Jordy Clasie have all departed on loan, as well.

Large sections of the Southampton fan-base remain frustrated by the club’s failure to build on an impressive start to the summer, but the new season always brings excitement.

So, just how will the team fare in the club’s seventh season back in the top-flight?

Take a look at what Daniel Emery, Luke Osman, Aydin Osman and Tom Mason had to say about the forthcoming 2017/18 season!
