Southampton have entered the race for Lille defender Kévin Malcuit, and have made an approach in the last few hours, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
Malcuit, the 27-year old Frenchman, has also attracted the interest of Napoli this summer, but it appears that the Saints are the frontrunners for the full-backs signature.

Cédric Soares is currently Southampton’s only senior right-back, with Jérémy Pied having departed St Mary’s following the expiration of his contract this summer, and Malcuit would look to provide competition for the Portugal international.
If the Saints shore up their interest in the full-back, Malcuit would be the fifth new signing brought to the club by Mark Hughes this window.
