Atalanta striker Andrea Petagna continues to offer Southampton hope, with the 23-year old not overly keen on a potential move to SPAL, according to Italian reports.
The Italy international forward has been linked with a move to the Premier League with Southampton recently, but reports have suggested that fellow Serie A outfit SPAL have already put terms to the player.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the terms are said to be marginally better than his current deal in Bergamo, although he has not yet had his head turned by the offer – although he hasn’t ruled it out.

That will surely strengthen Southampton’s position, with the South Coast club able to offer Petagna a stronger competition.
The Saints are desperate for striking reinforcements this summer. Guido Carrillo looks likely to be heading out on loan, while Manolo Gabbiadini, Shane Long and Charlie Austin struggled for consistency last season.
